Common questions
SitPretty says “Waiting for AirPods”.
Put your AirPods in and make sure they are connected to this Mac. SitPretty needs AirPods with head tracking: AirPods (3rd generation or later), AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, or a Beats model with head tracking.
It says “No data from AirPods”.
Your AirPods are probably playing on your iPhone or iPad. Choose “Use AirPods on This Mac” in the SitPretty menu, or play any sound on the Mac.
It nudges me when I'm sitting fine.
Press “False alarm” (Control-Option-F). SitPretty goes quiet for that position right away and learns from it. If it keeps happening, choose Teach Again at your usual desk, or lower the sensitivity in Settings.
I slouched and it didn't notice.
Press Control-Option-M at any time to say it missed one. This is the most useful thing you can teach it. Also note that a nudge comes only after about a minute and a half of steady slouching by default.
I didn't answer a nudge and now it's quiet.
After a nudge nobody answers, SitPretty stays quiet for 10 minutes so it doesn't nag. The menu bar panel shows when the next nudge can come. Sitting tall for 20 seconds, or answering, ends the quiet period.
My readings seem off today.
AirPods can sit a little differently each time you put them in. Choose “Re-aim AirPods” in the menu and sit tall for eight seconds.
I can't find the menu bar icon.
On Macs with a notch, extra icons can hide behind it. Allow SitPretty in System Settings › Menu Bar, or open SitPretty again from Spotlight to see its window.
I turned off motion access by mistake.
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Motion & Fitness and turn SitPretty on, then open SitPretty again.
How do I start over?
In Settings, “Forget corrections” returns your model to exactly what you taught, and “Teach Again” replaces it with a new one.
